Modeling inter-DC bulk data transfer in optical networks with edge storage

In communication networks that span large geographical regions, transfer of bulk data is often costly and hard to manage. One prominent reason for bandwidth contention among long-lasting flows, between short-lived ones on inter-datacenter links. Delaying the off-peak hours by temporarily storing at edge network can help reduce during peak hours, improve overall utilization utility. Although extensive research has been conducted its use, date no model developed quantify performance storage assisted transfers across multiple congested This gap limited our understanding operation under different conditions. this paper, we in optical with storage, derive closed-form equations inter-DC links exhibit diurnal traffic patterns varying hours.
